Quality control begins before production, not at the final inspection table. When a jewelry brand defines the visual and technical details early, the finished pieces can be reviewed against a shared standard instead of general impressions.

Confirm the approved reference

Every production style should have an approved reference: a CAD, a finished sample, clear photos or an itemized specification sheet. The reference should identify the stone type, shape, size range, metal, finish, setting details and any logo or packaging requirements.

Check stone and setting details

Review whether the stone layout matches the approved design and whether the settings appear even, secure and clean. On pieces with multiple stones, consistency of spacing and alignment has a large effect on the perceived quality. For center-stone designs, check the overall profile from the side as well as the top view.

Review metal finish and function

Polish, plating tone, surface marks, prong finishing, ring size, clasp operation and chain length should all be checked against the brief. A piece can look attractive in a single photo while still needing attention to comfort, movement or everyday use.

Make final inspection repeatable

Use a checklist that a production team and brand reviewer can both follow. It should include quantity, product code, stone and metal confirmation, finish, dimensions, logo details, packaging and any project-specific approval point. This structure also makes repeat orders easier because the standard is already documented.
